Candie, describe yourself for our visitors.
I consider myself a very multi-talented person, however, I totally understand that the talents and gifts that I possess come directly from my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! I am the Founder/Editor-in-Chief of WOW! Magazine, a magazine for Christian women, a Women’s Ministry leader, a pastor’s wife and a mother of two teen girls. I’ve got my hands in a lot of things. So when I relax I like to sit down and enjoy the pages of a good book! I also love to listen to Fred Hammond – He blesses my soul so much because his songs are mostly based on actual scriptures – which I love.

AAKultureZone.com is delighted to introduce another new column to the Faith Channel. We hope you are blessed by the writings of Sonja Ewell. Enjoy and be blessed!
In thirty nine years of surviving experiences often perceived as too harsh for a normal person, I’ve been repeatedly asked the same question, “How do you keep going?” For many years I hadn’t really thought about what kept me going as much as I thought about the fact that I had to keep going. Giving up didn’t seem like an option for me, even when I tried to give up, God would not let go of my hand. It is the survival instinct that remained hidden in the cores of my soul that allowed me to continue expecting things to be better one day.

Today the tears stopped.
The way her mother looked at her this morning told Tawana if she didn’t pull herself together, she’d soon find herself admitted to a local hospital.

Kickoff!
by Tiki & Ronde Barber with Paul Mantell
Tiki and Ronde’s twelfth summer is winding down — the nights are getting shorter and the evenings cooler. That means two things: The first day of junior high is just a few days away, and it’s almost the start of football season at last. With two championships and an 8-2 season last year, Tiki and Ronde are ready to graduate from the Peewee League and hit the field as starting players for the Hidden Valley Eagles. But junior high is a lot bigger than elementary school. The competition for starting spots is stiff, and seniority rules. If Tiki and Ronde make it past tryouts and cuts, will they get the chance to play, or will they have to spend the season watching from the bench with the other seventh graders? Inspired by the childhood of NFL superstars Tiki and Ronde Barber, Kickoff! is a story of teamwork, perseverance, and what it takes to be a champion.
