INTERVIEW | Shawneda Marks
December 1st is World’s Aids Day. Today, author Shawneda Marks joins us to talk about her very timely book release, It’s in My Blood.
Shawneda, describe yourself for our visitors.
Wow…umm I”m a spunky, energetic down to earth chick who loves God, my hubby, family, words green living and lotsa things in between. I’m trusting God to show me how to write, read and promote books full time.
How do you find time to connect with God?
I never find the time…I have to make it. Life is hectic for everyone…always something else to be done, so I make myself take moments throughout the day to love on Him. He is my first point of contact in the morning and last conversation at night. I’m not real deep with it, we talk, I read his book, then I grow.

Soul of Man Blog Tour Featuring Maurice M. Gray, Jr. – Letting Patience Have Its Way
The process of publishing has been hotly debated for as long as there has been publishing houses. With the variety of avenues that can now be traveled toward publication that debate has become much more scrutinized by readers and reviewers. For Maurice Gray the focus upon editing has become more than a conversation to engage in; it has become a passion that he gladly shares with others.
When approached with the possibility of working on a project his focus is not affordability, it is on what the author is willing to put into the process in order to learn the proper and sellable form of writing. He has done so in order to dispel the myth that an editor’s job is to make the manuscript publish worthy. To a large degree it is, but Maurice understands and impresses upon the prospective client that this cannot happen without their input and them learning the steps of editing.
