I’m fairly uncomplicated. I love books, movies, long walks and good music. I listen to different music depending on what I’m working on or my moods, but I like a lot of neo soul and old school stuff. Right now I’m in to some new artists Cross Movement is developing as well as some lesser known indie artists like 4th Avenue Jones. I like Mary J Blige’s latest album a lot. There’s always some Donnie McClurkin, Kirk Franklin and Mary Mary in my playlist. I just took up running last year and enjoy that a lot (you’d be surprised to look at me, but I’m serious!)

Sonya, describe yourself for our visitors.
How do I describe me? Well, this is what others say: perfectionist, hyper, warm hearted and definitely a people person. I make people think that they have known me for years. I can go in a grocery store and just start talking to whoever is next to me. The person will walk away and think, Do I know you? I love to read, all time favorite pass time. I had to literally fast from reading to meet writing deadlines. I enjoy contemporary gospel and jazz.
In my ministry that the Lord has given me, I am drawn to women who are broken. I deal with real issues in Covenant Sisters a ministry at our church that is now open to the community. This ministry is for those who are tired of the “mask” – they need to take it off and be free to be who God created them to be.

My name is Yolanda Tucker. I am thirty one years young. I am the mother of one teenage son. My hobbies are reading, gardening, decorating, and entertaining friends. My favorite music is Gospel and R&B. I love to eat good food and watch comedy.
How do you find time to connect with God?
I start each day connecting with God. When I open my eyes I thank God for life. I have an one hour and forty minute commute to work each way and I use a portion of that time to pray, praise and worship, and talk to God. Read more
