How faithful you are to Divine order will spell the difference between success and failure. “I believe I can fly” the song says…if you truly believe that you CAN, you will! It’s amazing to me how much we can learn from animals. Existing with them in this world has allowed us to be cognizant of their habits and the essence of their presence.
Many places in the Bible there are references to animals, i.e., snakes, sheep, doves, a donkey, etc. My favorite, bar none, is the eagle! Why the eagle? In Isaiah we are told that “if we trust in the Lord we would find new strength and fly high like eagles”…well, let’s see how we can be faithful in doing this as it pertain to our choice on becoming the best authors that we can be. I would like to share some characteristics of eagles that we, both as believers and as astute caretakers of applying words to illustrate our stories can be definitive.

If life can be akin to a race, it’s my opinion that it would be a marathon as opposed to a sprint. Life is too short to just race for speed. It’s all about endurance and pacing oneself to deal with the stamina needed to live a good life. Racing toward a goal or having aspirations of being the best you can is not uncommon in a common world full of iniquity where scales are not balanced for all things good.

Sometimes you are just confused as to whether you really love the person you are dating or it is mere attraction, and it is difficult to make a decision. Questions abound and you don’t know how can you be so sure that you’ve picked the right one? Well, the first thing that should be done is ask yourself why you have the love for the person you’re with? A better understanding of your heart and what it says should not be understated. For instance, does your heart beat for your partner? Do you feel totally devastated when he is not around? You should know the difference between love and infatuation. Blind love is not an option and shouldn’t be part of this equation.

Take one individual for instance as we ponder the title of this essay: Stanley Holmes was a star football player, an academic All-American popular beyond measure, a role model for those seeking to emulate his success, and a wunderkind if you will in the business world. After graduating at the top of his class a multi-million contract was negotiated on his behalf as he would go on to play 10 years with the Chicago Bears of the National Football League. Just before retiring, Stanley met John, a glib and enthusiastic real estate developer with a gift of gab who came across with an engaging smile and Type A personality.

A Word About Prayer for Parents and Children Alike

As a parent, what are you doing for prayer to remain a staple in your household? For you young folk, are you allowing God to be your Savior through prayer? These are questions that need to be answered. I’m more than a little dismayed as I observe the younger generation in their lack of discipline, especially as it pertain to spiritual value and moral turpitude. I see that there are not enough prayers being elicited from them in this period of need.
