G.R.A.C.E. Ministry’s is the cornerstone of G.R.A.C.E. Financial Ministry’s Inc. GRACE is an acronym for “God’s Resources Advancing Christian Evangelism” It is the intention of G.R.A.C.E. to make an impact in three distinct areas:
- Education – Teach biblical principles of money management. Our brothers and sisters are suffering from the burdens of financial hardships, some due to their own choices, and some due to the downtrends in the economy. God says in Deut that it is He who gives us the ability to obtain wealth; sadly many are at a loss to manage that wealth, no matter the size. By conducting workshops, facilitating one on one consulting and creating bible study materials, GRACE can impact the Kingdom in the area of finances. To preview the material go to the website listed below.
- Encouragement – Writing creative fictional stories that show how God works and is working in the lives of not only believers, but those who are ‘spiritually unresolved’ and searching for the peace, joy and contentment that only He can provide. GRACE Publishing has launched the first book in the “Window of the Heart” series entitled ReUnited – A Gift from God, for more information visit the GRACE Publishing website at G.R.A.C.E. Publishing Inc.
- Restoration – Finally the ultimate goal for GRACE Ministry is GRACE House, a high-end shelter primarily for woman and children who are escaping from abusive situations; albeit physical, emotional, or verbal, etc. The House is going to provide a unique approach to shelters, operating in the same manner as a full service hotel environment; significantly staffed by retired professionals such as; doctors, lawyers, nurses, teachers, Christian counselors, Pastors etc. Not only will the residents benefit from the services, it will be an organization that utilizes the wisdom and experience of a group of people who are often times overlooked.
How do you find time to connect with God?
I try to have a quiet time in the morning, and when I’m on my way to work I listen to the bible of CD, or a sermon from Dr. Charles Stanley. I read several Christian books, I’m currently reading the History of the Bible, a book that is written in chronological order as the event occur.
Who are your favorite authors? Favorite books?
I read mysteries, soft mysteries like Murder She Wrote or Joanne Fluke’s C Hannah Swensen series mysteries. I also enjoy books by John Maxwell, and the God’s General series.
Tell us about your journey to publication.
I enlisted the help of a book cover designer, Tywebbin Creations, who also created a book trailer. I started a publishing company, G.R.A.C.E. Publishing Inc., to publish under my own company name.
Tell us about your current book, ReUnited – A Gift from God?
Window of the Heart series is a collection of small fictional stories that explore the depth of God’s love and His capacity to restore that which was lost, albeit relationships, a renewed sense of oneself, or joy that had been buried under the weight of life’s challenges. In these stories, you will laugh, cry and I hope come away with a renewed spirit and a stronger faith.
In the first of the three book series, ReUnited – A Gift from God; the characters struggle with their faith in God, and the pain from their past. Can they truly forgive? Can they trust God and allow Him to heal their brokenness? Tony and Elaine have the opportunity to answer these questions and more because they are thrown together in an unlikely place, on top of a mountain in Alberta, Canada. There is no place for either of them to go, so they are forced to face their fears and their past lives together.
How did you come up with ideas for this book?
The book is roughly based on events from my own life. I was married young to a man who was physically abusive. I was thinking one day about past experiences and wondered what it would be like if after all these years we were reunited and the story evolved from there. The only similarity is the abusive marriage, the encounter in the mountains and the reconciliation is all fiction.
What valuable lessons do you want readers to learn from your book?
I want them to realize that God is in control and He can orchestrate events to bring about the opportunity for forgiveness, and reconciliation. I also want them to know that without God and a relationship with Jesus Christ, there is no real peace or joy. He is the One who gives us the ability to forgive and to be forgiven and nothing is too hard for God.
What’s next for you?
The next book in the series is another story about forgiveness and reconciliation, but not a dramatic as ReUnited. The story is set in a small town and involves several characters who try to solve the mystery of a mysterious benefactor who leaves a large sum of money for the town to save it’s township.
