How do you find time to connect with God?
I always, always start my day with Him. He is first before my cup of coffee ( although they are usually together) before social networking, before i get dressed for work. I spend usually the first hour of my day with Him.
Who are your favorite authors? Favorite books?
Iris Bolling the Heart Series, Nina Forrester, Nikki walker and her 2nd chance novels.
Tell us about your journey to publication.
My journey has been interesting. A fellow author Brenda Stokes Lee said God told me to tell you something and I don’t know how you will receive it. I told her to spill it. She said you need to write devotional books. And after much prayer and supplication my first book was written. I independently publish my writings because I wanted to be able to write whatever it was that I was led to write. I really did not want to go through a traditional publisher.
My current book The Summer of Wrath is about a young man whose father is killed in the line of duty. As a result of his death he becomes very angry and disappointed with God. Years later his sister is kidnapped by human traffickers and he delves closer and closer into darkness and madness in a quest to get her back.
How did you come up with ideas for this book?
I am a big ” what if’er, so to speak. I am the type of person if I am driving down the road and see a car on the side of the road broken down with one of the car doors open, I also go what if and come up with the foolishness in my head. I also get great ideas from just observing people.
What valuable lessons do you want readers to learn from your book?
1) That we cannot sink so low that God cannot pick us up.
2) Nothing that we will do surprises God. He has known us every qwerk, every crazy thing, every single thought that comes in our minds, and none of it takes him by surprise.
What’s next for you?
The Summer of Wrath is the first book in my Seven Deadly Sins series. So I am working on the next book in the series. However so many people have inboxed me and asked me publicly when will one of the characters in The Summer of Wrath story be written, so I am currently writing on Natasha’s story.
