INTERVIEW | Stewart Perrilliat, author of Kingdom Principles For Everyday Living

Stewart, describe yourself for our visitors.

I am a Father of three, a Minister, Evangelist, Author, Mentor, Motivational speaker and a native of Oakland, California. I am a full time graduate student at the American Baptist Seminary Of The West, located in Berkeley CA. I grew up in a community that was plagued with a number of challenging institutional socio-economic ills. Nevertheless, I escaped the lures of the streets and became a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corp, before becoming the founder and CEO of Perrilliat Enterprises, a general contracting and engineering firm, based in Northern California. I began my ministry call as a Street Evangelist in 1995, in San Jose CA. I have the gift of teaching, and I enjoy empowering people, to apply Biblical principles, to improve, and enhance their lives.

How do you find time to connect with God?

Every morning when I wake up, I start my day with praying, a few devotions and then mediation. I am a runner, and therefore often times God speaks to me during my time of jogging.

Who are your favorite authors? Favorite books?

My favorite authors are Miles Monroe and T.D. Jakes. Both of these authors do not just write books, but they have something to say, and something that can, and will, impact people lives. My favorite books are He-motions and Rediscovering the Kingdom.

Tell us about your journey to publication.

I felt the most difficult aspect about my journey to publication was, “time” and being patient. I wanted to get a “great” product into the people’s hands, and therefore I had to keep going back and forth, making revisions and proof reading it, over and over again, in order to produce that final product.

Tell us about your current book, Kingdom Principles For Everyday Living

My book, Kingdom Principles For Everyday Living,  is a 40-day daily devotion. The primary purpose of this book was to challenge believers and nonbelievers, to think about God from a different perspective. This book has been written with 40 practical principles and applications, so individuals will not only read the word of God, but also learn how to apply these principles to their lives.

How did you come up with ideas for this book?

I came up with the idea to write this book, by writing daily devotions and speaking from my own personal life. I began sending these devotions out to family and friends, as a word of encouragement. Many people started responding back and expressing that they too, were experiencing these exact same things in their lives, and that they were being blessed by these devotions.

What valuable lessons do you want readers to learn from your book?

What valuable lessons I want readers to learn from this book, is how to establish a greater and deeper relationship with God, and to develop a more personal relationship with Jesus Christ, by spending more time with him, each and everyday, through prayer and mediation.

What’s next for you?

I am presently working on several other books projects as we speak, and I am also working
toward my Doctoral degree.

Where can readers find you online?
