INTERVIEW | Myrlande Sauveur, author of Daily Spiritual Vitamins and Minerals for Your Soul

Myrlande, tell us about yourself

My name is Myrlande E. Sauveur from Stamford, CT. I have my Master’s in Business Management from Strayer University. I am a dynamic and creative volunteer youth counselor whose personality and sense of humor enable me to convey a meaningful message accessible to all. I enjoy writing poetry and short stories, but for the past year I especially love to teach people how to communicate on a deeper level with God. I am the Co-Chair of Dorcas Foundation, a non-profit organization that focuses on helping Haitian college students and Haitian Women in Stamford, CT and the surrounding areas by providing them with charitable services in the form of scholarships, college and health fairs.

How do you find time to connect with God?

We are living in a fast pace world and sometimes it’s easy to forget the most important thing in life which is creating time to talk and listen to God. I create time to connect with God, everywhere I am, whatever I am doing, I always take a few minutes to pray or read a bible verse. I always have a physical bible in my purse and the Holy Bible app on my phone.

Who are your favorite authors? Favorite books?

My favorite authors are T.D Jakes, John Gray, Joel Osteen. Some of my favorite books are: The Lady, Her Lover and Her Lord by T.D Jakes, Maximize the Moment by T.D Jakes, Lady in Wating Becoming God’s Best While Waiting for Mr. Right by Jackie Kendall, Debby Jones.

Daily Spiritual Vitamins and Minerals for Your Soul is a daily devotional book with a dozen meditational reflections based on my life experience as a young Christian, supported by daily key verse, as a regulator to give our lives the rhythm we need to enhance our self-esteem, elevate our morale, increase our faith, and strengthen our fellowship with the Lord. We all need vitamins and minerals to stay physically healthy, and we need the Word of God to remain spiritually healthy. These pages contain nuggets of peace and wisdom for a troubled society and its weary people—and with daily meditation and reflection on God’s Word, you will nourish your soul and soothe your spirit.

How did you come up with ideas for this book?

As a health and wellness consultant, I know how vitamins and minerals deficiency can affect someone physical health not only on a daily basis but also permanently and I realized that it’s the same for our spiritual health, personally when I don’t pray and read my bible for a day, I feel disconnected, and lost. In order to have a healthy relationship with God, we need to take our daily Vitamins and Minerals every day and in that case it’s the Word of God, reading a verse, meditate on it and praying every day will not only make us strong spiritually but also bring us closer to Him.

What valuable lessons do you want readers to learn from your book?

I would like readers to know that God is always there no matter what. No matter what is going on in your life, you are hurt, disappointed, feel unloved turn to Him. He wants to be your friend and be a part of your life. Trust Him, Obey Him completely and watch Him transform your life as He transformed mine and others.
