INTERVIEW | Ashley Lounds-Brooks

Ashley, describe yourself for our visitors.

Hmmm, if I had to describe myself in one word I would say “thankful”. Since I am not a one word type of ladyI would say that I am one ambitious, loveable, God-focus, lady full of tenacity!

How do you find time to connect with God?

Luckily I have matured my relationship with him that I talk to him daily, even with a busy schedule. I try to read his word everyday. Also. I think its important to fellowship with other believers because they can encourage you even when your down and out.

Do you have a favorite bible verse and or quote you wish to share?

Isiash 45: 22– Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.

I think this is so powerful. Look to God to be your every thing. There is nothing else that could fill his place. No man, no woman, no drug, no alcohol, no amount of sex, nothing!

Tell us about your current book.

Single, Satisfied and Saved is a book in which I use my testimony to help unwed women live a more satisfying life serving Christ. The book features practical Christian principles to discover one’s innermost strength, talent, skill and strategies whether as a babe or veteran. What makes this book stands out from other self-help books is that I provide the reality of the Christian walk- “some days you don’t feel like being saved!” I don’t just give you a list of do’s and don’ts but help the reader to realize and understand the reasoning behind it all.

What influenced you to write this book?

During my attendance in college, I have seen a lot of women drop out of school, get pregnant, lose their faith, and to be honest I could have been one of them but thank God I wasn’t. My passion to help people, particularly women, to know their worth and whom they belong to.

What valuable lessons do you want readers to learn from your book?

I pray that the women can learn something that will help them live a more fulfilling life. Most importantly. I want them to learn that its never to late to live for Christ. He loves you no matter what your past may be or even what you have done 3 minutes ago. He desires you know you.

What’s next for you?

I also have a nonprofit organization for women entitled Christian Ladies All Together Satnding Against Social Injustice Corporation (CLASSIC Inc. -www.classicorp.org) in which I plan on continuing to grow that organization as ‘the vehicle for women empowerment’. Also my second book is already in the works!
