INTERVIEW | Paulette Harper

Paulette, describe yourself for our visitors.

Paulette Harper Johnson is a wife, mother, grandmother, writer, speaker and child of God. I am the visionary behind “Write Now” releasing the word in you literary workshops. Workshops designed to coach aspirating authors in the areas of creativity, development and publication of Christian books.

How do you find time to connect with God?

It is so important that I spend time with God in prayer, fellowship and the study of the Word. I can not be all that He wants me to be or accomplish all that He wants me to accomplish without spending time waiting on Him to give me the direction I need. I realize that I cannot do anything apart from the Lord. So finding time for Him is a necessity for living. I talk to God constantly, everyday.  I purpose to set aside quality time to meditate and study the scriptures for my personal enrichment and edification. Even though I’m quite active at church and now with the new book, I don’t allow outside influences to interfere with my time with Him. Faith & prayer are vital keys to the success of my life.

Do you have a favorite bible verse and or quote you wish to share?

One of my favorite scriptures is I Samuel 30:8B “Without fail you shall recover all”

I realize that we are living in some rough times. Many people are facing challenges that they have never known before and walking into territory that may be unfamiliar to them. And of course many have lost things in the process. Nevertheless, God’s word is true because we have a covenant with God He has promised that there shall be a day of recovery. So I would tell anyone, take God at His word and trust that you shall recover everything that was taken from you. Better days are ahead.

Tell us about your current book.

Completely Whole features thoughtful meditations, powerful prayers, and timely scriptural passages, all designed to present the reader with a detailed, comprehensive understanding of what it takes to achieve a truly fulfilling life. In so doing, the readers will undergo a fully transformative change – mind, body, and spirit – that will ultimately lead them to the lives of peace and satisfaction they’ve been seeking for so long. Completely Whole is an inspirational guide to living a healthier spiritual life.

What influenced you to write this book?

With the desire to see people made whole, oftentimes, many people try to seek fulfillment from money, relationships, accomplishments, or material things. Others choose to cope with difficult problems by using drugs or alcohol, but they often come up short and soon have to realize that such things do not bring true happiness and fulfillment in life. Completely Whole, shows readers how to overcome suffering caused by alcoholism, substance abuse, poverty, and other obstacles blocking the path to a life of wholeness in spirit, soul, and body.

What valuable lessons do you want readers to learn from your book?

My focus in writing is to enrich the lives of my readers. I had a reader make this comment about Completely Whole “It speaks” and that’s what I want it to do. I want them to come away knowing that they have the ability to live a full enriched life.

I want to make several impacts on readers: First I write non-fiction inspirational books so this means my books should have a lasting effect on a person’s spirit. Inspiring and encouraging them to pursue with passion a better fulfilled life. I want my writings to give strength, encouragement in the time of need. As they read Completely Whole, I want my writings to engage, stimulate and edify them spiritually.

What’s next for you?

I’m currently working on two projects for 2011. Victorious Living for Moms, my second anthology, is slated for release in May 2011, right in time for Mother’s Day and the release of my forth book, For Such a Time as This.

This is good stuff, and very intrusive! I’m just as much impressed with you Paulette as if I didn’t already know you! God has given you a platform and a new lease on life to do what he envisions to do — so write it down and DO make it plain! From one of your most ardent supporters. May the blessings continue to flow as he pour them out to you!
