INTERVIEW | Wanda B. Campbell

Wanda, describe yourself for our visitors.

I consider myself an introvert by nature. As a rule, I’m quiet and only speak when
necessary. Ironically, I love to meet new people and encourage them to be reach their full potential.

How do you find time to connect with God?

I read the Bible and pray on a regular basis and everyday I listen to worship music. Israel Houghton is my favorite gospel artist. I love devotionals.

Do you have a favorite bible verse and or quote you wish to share?

My favorite Bible verse is Micah 6:8. Everyday I strive to live this verse. If I can follow
these simple instructions, everything I do will glorify God.

Tell us about your current book.

My current book is Right Package, Wrong Baggage. I love this story. It has romance,
comedy and drama. It’s the sequel to my first published short story, Mommy’s Present in The Midnight Clear. Readers will remember little six-year-old Matthew Roberts who went on a mission to find his mother the perfect Christmas present-a husband. Right Package, Wrong Baggage picks up from there. Micah Stevenson turns out be the prefect package for Pamela Roberts. He loves God, is a great role model for her son, and has good credit plus, he’s handsome.

As Micah and Pamela build a solid relationship, everything appears perfect. That is until Micah trusts Pamela with his heart and shares his tainted past with her. Will the man he used to be prevent Pamela from loving Micah for the man he is now?

What influenced you to write this book?

Without giving away too much of the “baggage” my main influence in writing this story
were the prejudices and stereotypes I witnessed in and around the church.

Did you have a favorite character(s)? Who and why?

My favorite character in Right Package, Wrong Baggage is Micah. I love his honesty and sensitivity. He is a man of integrity and he places the needs of others above his own. Most of all, his courage is something to be admired.

What’s next for you?

I’m elated to announce in November 2010 my publishing company, Micah 6:8 Books,
LLC will release it inaugural project, Home Again: Stories of Restored Relationships.

My fourth novel, Silver Lining, is scheduled for release from Urban Christian August 2011.
