The Gem Within
by Robin Wise
And when I passed by you and saw you struggling in your own blood. I said to you in your blood, ‘Live’! Ezekiel 16:6
We are God’s people and at some point in our lives, we are faced with struggles. They can be the result of a broken heart, a failed or abused relationship, rejection, finances, children, shattered dreams, divorce, pride, jealousy…we all have them, they come in different shapes and sizes, and each of us handle them in different ways.
During the storm of struggles, some people are anchored in the Word of God, some constantly need encouragement while some think of committing suicide. Each of our struggles are a design original crafted to perfect our destiny. And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God.
When faced with struggles, our enemy-the devil-is on a mission to steal our joy, kill our faith, and to destroy God’s credibility in our lives. That is why we need to hide the Word of God in our heart so that we won’t sin against God.
The Word of God is living and active; sharper than a two-edged sword. The Word of God is true. O’ taste and see that the Lord is good, blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him. The Word of God is a gem.
A gem is a precious stone, especially when cut and polished; something valued because of its excellence or beauty. God watches over His Word to perform it and every promise that He made is yes and amen. Cast your cares upon Him because He cares for you.
The gem within us will anchor our soul so when the storm of struggles rage against us, we will not be tossed to and fro. The gem within said that we are the head and not the tail, above only and not beneath. The gem within said that greater is He who is in me than he who is in the world. The gem within said we win. The gem within said "peace be still."
Today, celebrate that the gem within has fashioned us to be a dynamic cluster of arrayed beauty glowing of diamond, emerald, pearl, opal, sapphire, amber, ruby, topaz, emerald as a display of His majestic awesomeness. Polish your gem within.
Upon this rock I will build my church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
ABOUT ROBIN R. WISE: Sistah Robin is a playwright, grandmother, Sunday school teacher and seeker of God’s presence. Death was the assignment against her to take her life from a young age, but God had another plan. Growing up, she had a secret place where she would run to pray, write and bask in God’s presence. Today, she is discovering places God has for her as well and taking her son’s advice to laugh when she can. When she’s not interceding or working with youth, she dreams of opening a travel agency where people can enjoy God’s blessings. Though her heart goes around the world, Robin resides in Arkansas.
