Tell us about your journey to publication.
My publication journey was one full of faith and excitement. I decided when I turned 25 that I was going finally publish some of my work and I begin to seek out self-publishing companies. I researched publishing and what it takes for years but I was fearful of letting others read my work, always afraid of what they might say. Then I decided that I was going to walk in my destiny because God truly has not given us the spirit of fear. I found a self-publishing company that seemed to have all that I needed, Author House. They were great, they walked with me every step of the way. I give them rave reviews.
Tell us about your current book?
My current book, I Still Do, is written in the genre of Inspirational Fiction and is about overcoming adversities through the power of God. The characters in the story have every material thing that many people wish they had, e.g., money, power, families and great careers, but they still have deeper issues. The issues range from childhood traumas, to lack of trust in marriage and even divorce. These are real life adversities that people face each day but the story line is fiction.
I Still Do is about inspiring the readers to try a different way to deal with their life adversities; it’s about inspiring people to try Christ.
How did you come up with ideas for this book?
I started writing this book at a time when I was going through some really rough times in my personal life and it was how I dealt with it. I begin to write and just let it flow, that is always how I have dealt with things in my life, I begin to write and I am always surprised at the outcome, as I was with this book.
What’s next for you?
I Still Do is my first published book but I am working on the sequel to I Still Do, as well as, a novella entitled He Left Me. There is a preview of He Left Me in the back of I Still Do.
I am going to continue to promote my books, get them into the book stores, and keep looking for an agent/publisher. I want to go far with my writings. I want to do movies based on my books so the sky is the limit for me.
