Michelle Stimpson – Christmas is all about celebrating God’s love for us through the gift of His son. This year, my family and I plan to do something we’ve never done in order to make sure we take that meaning to heart. Instead of getting all tied up in gifts and such, we’ll spend the morning volunteering. I think this is one of the best ways to celebrate the love of God – by doing just what He did – giving

A Literary Christmas Celebration Presents Tia McCollors
Christmas all month with WrittenVoicesBlog.com. This week, we will meet the some of the award-winning, bestselling authors of the Anointed Authors on Tour.
Tia McCollors – CHRISTmas is my absolute favorite time of year. Above all, I can’t help but thank God for the gift of His son Jesus Christ. Christmas morning is always one of the most peaceful days in my house, despite the excited chatter of family and the squeals of my two and a half year old who finds more joy in ripping off paper than he does with the gift in the box! My five month old is content right now staring at the lights on the Christmas tree. Christmas is also a time to relish family traditions, like choosing a special ornament for each of my children that represents something signficant that happened for them that year. Because of that, my Christmas decorations bring up great memories!

True Essence of Family
Kendra Norman-Bellamy
Christmas is the only time of year when all of the members of my immediate family travel from our separate destinations and gather at my parents’ home to spend quality time as a complete unit. We pray together, play together, cook and eat together. It’s a very cherished time of year. Christmas, for me, is a time to reflect on God’s goodness and a time to celebrate the true essence of family.
A Literary Christmas Celebration Presents Veronica Fields Johnson

I have so many fond Christmas memories that it was a challenge to narrow that down to one specific thing. The sights and sounds associated with this time of the year are what really mean the most to me. Christmas carols and hymns set the atmosphere. If you think about it, during the Christmas holiday people are in a continuous state of praise and worship. We’re giving, treating people with warmth, volunteering our time to worthy causes and donating food, clothing and other items to organizations that help those deemed less fortunate. Just operating in what some people call the ‘Christmas spirit’ is really just being Christ-like.

Advent Scriptural Reference for December 12, 2008
Sing and rejoice, O daughter Zion!
See, I am coming to dwell among you, says the LORD. –Psalms 1:1
I placed my last Gingerbread Donovan in the basket when the phone rang.
I checked my watch. 6:30pm. The party started in thirty minutes. I didn’t have time to drive, let alone talk. Yet I checked the caller ID anyway. Thank Goodness I did. It was Mama and she would have had a hot fit if I didn’t pick up.
