A Literary Christmas Celebration Presents LaShaunda Hoffman
My Christmas Book Memory
by LaShaunda Hoffman
My favorite books growing up as a kid were the Little House on The Prairie series. I identified with Laura for some reason. I loved her stories. I babysat to make extra money and each time I made enough to buy a new book to add to the collection I would quickly rushing out to pick up my next book.
The hardest book to find was These Golden Years, the courtship of Laura and Almanzo. I found it and made the mistake and loaned it to a friend. She tore the cover and didn’t want to give it back because she knew I would be mad. I was, enough to shed tears as I taped the book back together.

Consider Who is in Your Spiritual Life
by Tabitha Vinson
In Check Your Keys – Part 1, Tabitha Vinson shares her personal spiritual journey with the reader. During this journey, Tabitha receives revelation after revelation from her intimate conversations with God.
Like many single women, she found herself intoxicated by a new man in her life. Everything seemed to be going well in the relationship, but there were issues that were not obvious. Using a house as an analogy for parts of the body, Tabitha candidly explains the importance of keeping the temple, the body from head to toe, pure. As a single woman, she needed to be careful who she let into certain areas of her life or the results could be spiritual disaster.
A Literary Christmas Celebration Presents Rhonda McKnight

The Gift of a Grateful Child
by Rhonda McKnight
Christmas is my absolute favorite holiday. I know a lot of people complain about the bustle and expense, but I enjoy the lights and decorations, the food and the sales. More than anything, I love the giving to others; always have.
I work for a large human services agency. Many years ago I provided direct services to homeless clients. One year, when my oldest son was six years old, he gave me a very, very, long list for Santa Claus. It was upsetting to me, because every year I talked to him about the real meaning of Christmas. We even celebrated Jesus’ birthday by baking a cake, but based on the list I was looking at, my kid wasn’t getting it.
A Literary Christmas Celebration Presents Keshia Dawn

The very memory that come to mind when I think about the holidays, are those spent with my cousins. Growing up, I had nine years to myself as an only child. The times that I spent singing, dancing, playing church at our grandparent’s home for Christmas is one of the fondest. Our grandfather was a pastor so making up our own sermons was a given.

Vivi Monroe Congress – Christmas is always a time of reflection and thanksgiving for me. I am reminded, especially during this holiday season, to continue modeling—all year long—the reason we celebrate and to emulate Christ by striving to be of service and by sometimes sacrificing something that may be of great value (to me) for greater return (for Him).
