INTERVIEW | Katrina Spigner

Katrina, describe yourself for our visitors.

"I am really a down-home "country girl"! I love spending quality time with my family. I also love to laugh and have fun. My hobbies include shopping and reading. I love worship music! My ministry is my writing and speaking. I am also a teacher at heart. So, I use my teaching gift as a way to minister to others."

How do you find time to connect with God?

"I choose to believe I am always connected to God. Since the day I accepted Jesus as my Savior, He has never let me go. So, my pursuit is not to connect with God, but rather to nurture my relationship with Him. I do so by spending time in prayer, which is intimate communication with God. I speak to Him from my mind, my will, and my emotions – the depths of my soul. And then…I listen."

Tell us about your journey to publication.

"I realized I wanted to be a writer in 1999 when I went back to school to pursue my bachelor’s degree. I was a single parent without a strong sense for the direction for my life. However, in my first semester, my professors began to speak very highly of my writing ability. In essence, they identified a gift in me that I didn’t know existed. I continued to hone my skills to the point that writing became therapeutic to me and created an outlet for me to record things in writing that I had difficulty verbalizing. My personal journey compelled me to write this book. As I sat out to pursue my own purpose for life, I wanted to use my experiences to inspire others to discover their God-given gifts and treasures as they pursue living a life of purpose."

Tell us about your current book?

"I entitled the book This Is For You! because of many conversations I had with women prior to writing the book. It seemed that many of them knew about the good things of God. They even helped and inspired others toward that goodness. However, when it came to their individual lives, they lived so far beneath what God had planned for them. Therefore, I wanted to use this book to inspire readers to strive for and live a more purposeful life. And ot let them know that the lessons God has taught me is for them too!"

How did you come up with ideas for your current release?

"The information and ideas for the book came from every-day occurrences in my life and my lessons learned. I thought it was important to share the good, the bad, and the ugly in hopes that various aspects of my journey could somehow be a blessing to others."

What’s next for you?

“I plan to continue writing and living my life on purpose! In God, I know my best is yet to come!"

Where can visitors find you online?

"I can be found online at An autographed copy of my book can be purchased from my website. Or, standard copies may be purchased at,,, and

You can also view the book trailer on YouTube."

I met Katrina in 2004 in my last year at Columbia College. She was my instructor for several courses. Her leadership and support as a professor had such a great impact on my life that I began to look up to her and confide in her about personal goals and desires for my life. She has the ability to speak into one’s life and help them not only identify their passion but to also live it to the fullest.

I am very excited about Katrina’s new book, and cannot wait to purchase it. I know that there is so much more that is to come from a dynamic, anointed woman of God such as Katrina. I am grateful to be touched by her grace and wisdom and to share it with those around me. I look forward to her weekly devotionals and encourage all women if you have not subscribed to do so. Her devotionals are filled with wisdom, inspiration, daily life challenges, and most of all her heart. Her words are spoken from her heart.

May God continue to Bless her ministry!
