Houston, TX (BlackNews.com) – The Desire to Inspire Writers’ Workshop is the first of a series of seminars created and hosted by Author, Educator and Motivational Speaker Sharon C. Jenkins, also known as "The Master Communicator." This seminar is titled, AuthorizeMe, designed to help aspiring authors get their book idea down on paper and into a professional book proposal format that will ultimately lead to a published product.

This fun, informative hands-on, 8-hour seminar will be held at The Brighter Side Multi-Functional Facility, Friday, September 19th from 5:30 pm to 9:30pm and Saturday, September 20th from 8 am to 5pm.

Featured authors are Sharon Norris Elliot and Michelle Stimpson. Elliot, facilitator of the AuthorizeMe Workshop, is the Director of Sandy Cove Christian Communicators’ Experience and author of Living a Milk & Honey Life. Stimpson is the bestselling author of novels Boaz Brown, Divas of Damascus Road (Essence Bestseller), Breaking Bondage to Biscuits and the upcoming 2008 releases, The Good Stuff and Trouble in My Way. The featured publisher is Kerry Douglas of Gospel Truth Magazine.

A panel discussion will be held during the luncheon, which will include: Cederick Tardy – Author, The Big Payback; Dr. Wendy Johnson – Author & Motivational Speaker, Missing in Action: Black Women in the Board Room; Marvin Cloud – Author & Publisher, Get Off the Pot; Sandy Lawrence – Publicist, Perceptive Marketing; Debra Atkins – Playwright, Everybody’s Woman; and Panel Facilitator, Arthur J. Johnson – Author & Motivational Speaker, Ignite the Fire Within.

Jenkins, the brainchild of this project, is a published author and has written several Christian plays. She has also co-authored a book of inspirational psalms called The Songs of Three Sisters and wrote, produced and directed two plays called The Café of Hope and Benjamin Thomas Worthington, Resurrected. She has also performed as a dramatic reader in the poetry recital Sing Loudly Hallelujah written and directed by K. G. Bell. She is an educator and often refers to herself as a "teacher of teachers" because of her ability to effectively communicate and adapt to a wide variety of audiences such as businesses, social organizations, churches, and schools as well as at professional conferences. Some of Jenkins’ keynote topics include: "Transitions: How to Take Your Dreams Out of Neutral," "Discovering the Beauty in You!" and "Get the Hook-Up: Establishing a Community Presence."

Jenkins’ most recent literary project is Beyond the Closet Door, Christ’s Rescue from Emotional Child Abuse, and she co-produced the historical documentary with Positive Image Productions, Do You Remember? African American Business Success in Houston, Texas. She is also on The Milk and Honey Life Retreats faculty; where women go to get alone with God in the beautiful Arizona Desert.
