COMMENTARY | Absurd Litmus Test for Black Presidential Candidates
ABSURD LITMUS TEST FOR BLACK PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATES
By Gwen Richardson
The recent controversy regarding Sen. Barack Obama’s 20-year relationship with his pastor, mentor and spiritual adviser, Dr. Jeremiah Wright, has been instructive. To this point, most African Americans were skeptical that a Black president could be elected in our lifetimes. We thought the requirements were nearly insurmountable: Build a national, 50-state political organization; raise tens, if not hundreds of millions of dollars; possess top-notch academic and political credentials; and appeal to a substantial number of White voters.
Jeremiah Wright Can Be A Problem or Opportunity for Obama
JEREMIAH WRIGHT CAN BE A PROBLEM OR OPPORTUNITY FOR OBAMA
By Gwen Richardson
There is an adage that the most segregated hour in America is at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday morning. Therein lies the difference in reaction to the recently released videos featuring provocative statements by Sen. Barack Obama’s pastor for the past 20 years, Dr. Jeremiah Wright.
INTERVIEW | Wanda Campbell
Wanda, describe yourself for our visitors.
My family and friends would disagree, but I am really a shy and introverted individual. I am very quiet and as rule only speak when I have something important to say. I consider myself very comical and a wealth of information. I enjoy encouraging and motivating individuals to move beyond the fear dreaming and turn those dreams into reality. My motto is, “If you don’t try, you’ll never know what could have been only what isn’t.”

Your eyesight sees oblivion, and every pulse in your body brings forth a thud of frustration and disenchantment. Every step forward seems like a step backward, and every muscle in your face throbs from attempting a smile. Where is there to go?
